Chore Wheel — Randomly Assign Household Jobs

Nobody volunteers for the bathroom. Let the wheel assign chores instead — add each job as a slice and spin once per person.

  1. Press spin — the wheel already contains 10 options.
  2. Edit, delete or add slices in the options panel to make the list yours.
  3. Give an option a higher weight if you want it to come up more often.
  4. Switch to elimination mode to remove each result after it is drawn.
  5. Copy the share link to send the exact same wheel to somebody else.

What's on this wheel

The default slices are:

  • Dishes

  • Bathroom
  • Mop floors
  • Tidy living room
  • Wipe kitchen
  • Change bedding
  • Water plants

Why use a wheel instead of just choosing?

Small decisions burn a surprising amount of attention. Handing the choice to a wheel caps the debate at one spin, removes the sense that somebody pushed for their preference, and gets a group moving again. Because the result is visibly random, it also feels fair — which matters more than the outcome in most group settings.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the chore wheel?
Yes. Every slice can be renamed, deleted, duplicated or weighted, and you can paste in a whole list of your own options.
Is the spin actually random?
Yes. The winner is chosen with your browser's cryptographic random number generator before the animation plays, using each slice's weight.
Will my changes be saved?
Name a wheel and press save to keep it in this browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, and clearing your browser data removes saved wheels.
How do I share this wheel?
Use the link button under the wheel. It copies a URL that contains your current options, so the person opening it sees the same slices.
